I am having a issue with x-plane that I cannot resolve. I hadn't played for a while. So on 2/11 I decided to play I stated up and it said update available whicich I did. Once I got the Cessna started and entered the flight plan. I usually set the auto pilot to heading and verticle speed to +5. Once I ledft off I set the auto pilot. This is where issue starts. As I begin to take off the autopilot cuts off and the plane begins to left off at about 20 miles per hour and continues to climb regardless of what I do with the joystick. The stall alarm sounds and the plane starts banking to the left.I uninstalled and reinstalled both x-plane and the latest drivers for my thrustmaster hosta-x control. I get the same results. As of right now I can't even use x-plane. I auto pilot won't even respond once the plane is in the air. I've had x-plane 11 since it first came out. I haven't had any issues until now. I look forward to hearing from you, and thinks in advance for your assistance.

Hi mackavil14

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but please note that from version 11.30, there have been a number of changes to autopilot systems within X-Plane 11 and particularly the introduction of the S-TEC 55 into the Cessna Skyhawk 172 (and other aircraft) that are fitted with the GNS430/530 navigation systems.

The new S-TEC 55 operates differently from the old autopilot version and like all improvements, it will take a bit of getting used to by simmers in general.

You may therefore wish to click on the following link and review what X-Plane developers have stated about preconfigured autopilots and other autopilot changes in 11.30:- https://developer.x-plane.com/article/preconfigured-autopilots-and-other-autopilot-changes-in-11-30/

There is also a YouTube video covering the new S-TEC 55 @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2muwV-DiAfg

Lastly, please have a look in your C:\X-Plane 11\Instructions folder as you will find a manual in there for the S-TEC 55 with useful guidance.
