My mouse wheel no longer zooms in or out. Even the + and - do not zoom. The action is to scroll downwards first with wheel forward then return to straight ahead when rotated backwards instead of zooming in or out.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for including your log.txt! From looking at it, I see you have a plug in called "xscrollwheel" and that seems like a likely culprit. Can you try moving your plugin folder to the desktop and trying X-Plane again to see if that fixes it?

If so, then the issue is definitely caused by a plugin.

Hi!

I'm sorry that my attached log.txt led you down the garden path. I had installed the 'scrollwheel' plugin in the hope it might trigger a cure for the problem. I have removed it, run x-plane again and attach a new log.txt. The issue persists.

Thank you for your help.

Mike

Hi Mike,

The usual plan of attack for weird button behavior is:

  1. Move preferences to desktop & restart.
  2. Move all third party scenery & plugins to desktop & retry.
  3. Run the installer to see if it needs to fix any missing or corrupt files. (I'm not sure if this is possible for you--it looks like you are a Steam user?)
Please let me know if any of that works.

Thank you very much. Just removing and rebuilding preferences did the trick.

In passing, I'm curious why the zoom out is so limited? There are many video clips showing zooming way beyond that available with +/- and the mouse wheel. I'm aware that the FOV can be adjusted to give a better cockpit view, but it occurs to me there is something else or a plugin available to allow extended zooming.

I very much appreciate your help.

Kind regards,

Mike
