I can never seem to update X-Plane when ever a new update is available. I always manage to get to the downloading of the files. But during the actual 'installation' it fails with 'corrupt file' error. I have turned off the firewall and still have the same issue(s). This happened on the last update as well! My only way around this is to download a NEW version of X-Plane and then re-add all my addon/plugins and re-configure it all again. I know its obviously not the internet connection because I can download the entire installation NEW without issue.

Help?? Advice??

Thanks,

Russ

Hi Russ

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but would it be possible for you to upload your X-Plane Installer Log.txt file to this post, so that I and others with a greater knowledge base, can review it accordingly?

If you're not sure how to upload this file, please click on the following link and review the instructional PowerPoint slides that I have prepared for this purpose:- http://questions.x-plane.com/?qa=blob&qa_blobid=15137354108207086791

Thanks Russ, I've look at the X-Plane Installer Log.txt file and the final entries clearly show three files (highlighted in red) that were corrupt for some reason and they all relate to web based manuals:-

I also note that you have elected to install X-Plane 11 into your D:Drive, when ideally the whole X-Plane root directory should be in your local C:Drive i.e. C:\X-Plane 11.

Apologies but I'm not sure I can be of any further assistance on this one :-(

Thanks for the (attempted) assist :) it is VERY much appreciated.

I installed to "D:" because "C:" is an SSD and only 128GB in size. This computer is a dedicate XP11 machine.

I am trying to do the update to this mornings download of XP11.05 and see if it updates properly... This Highwinds CDN server is sloooow though The update starts out well then peters off... Will keep you posted.

Cheers,

Russ

Well seems it was a "known issue" according to X-Plane support.

All fixed now... now I have to re-do everything :( Deleted and reinstalled from scratch (sadly)
