Hi, I had no problems with X-Plane (maybe some crash but very rarely) until the last month. I´ve updated my X-Plane from 10.4x to 10.45. I added more memory RAM too. I bought 4 gb in OWC website, so now I have 8 gb of memory RAM.

I have a OS X Yosemite v 10.10.15

But in the last weeks the simulator has become very unstable. I have crash flying over some areas but these crash are random. Of course I tested with basic sceneries and removing all the "suspect" addons and similar, so I can´t find the pattern or the reason about the crash. I have the rendering settings with the low option.

The log.txt after these crashes does not report anything like "application crashed!". But the system throws me and error, to send to Apple. Here is an example of part of the error (I have all the log saved in a file):

Thread 4 crashed with X86 Thread State (64-bit):
  rax: 0x0000000000000000  rbx: 0x0000000000000006  rcx: 0x00000000b0428ac8  rdx: 0x0000000000000000

Memory Module: BANK 1/DIMM0, 4 GB, DDR3, 1333 MHz, 0x0000, -

is problem of the Yosemite? is problem of my new RAM? (I don´t think so because all the system works fine with the new RAM).

Thanks

Hi Felix,

Please provide us with the Apple crash reports. They're found in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ (where ~ refers to your Home directory). You can upload them here, send me a private message, or send them through the bug reporter here.

Hi, I attach the file and another txt file where I´ve copied the last crash I have had.

Thanks

Yes, this confirms a crash in X-Plane and not a plugin (for this one instance at least) but we'll need specific, reproducible steps to do anything more with it. :(  It's just not possible for our developers to find a bug by just flying around and hoping it will crash.

I know, I cant find the pattern to reproduce the crash. I only know that it happens from the last month after the udpate and after add the new memory.

I have previous Apple crashes reports if you want to check them.

Those files aren't Apple crash reports. They would be end in .crash instead of .diag.

Ok, you saw the txt file. The content of this txt file is the log that appears to send to Apple when the X-Plane crashes.  In my DiagnosticReports folder I haven´t got any file ending with .crash related with X-Plane. All the files related with X-Plane end with .diag.

And in the "CrashReporter" folder, I haven´t got any file too.

Hi, is there any minor update available for X-Plane soon? Because I continue with this randomly crashes when I´m flying and is so frustrating. The only pattern I can find is when I am flying over some areas of Spain but I´ve checked many things, sceneries, etc and I have not nothing more to review :(. I ask about the minor update due to if maybe I have lucky and the update fixes the problems I have.

It does not matter if I fly at night, offline, with one airplane or another, online, etc... it looks like the "pattern" is when I try to fly over some big areas of Spain. And the crashes always is more or less 20 minutes after takeoff. Some times, If I reload the simulator, it crashes again and again without finish the loading. In this case I must load a different airport.

If X-Plane crashes while trying to load scenery, it is most likely a problem with the scenery pack. Is it a custom scenery pack? If so, if you can provide a copy or a link I can see if it happens to me too.

Hi, the only suspect I have is LEBB Bilbao International Airport 1.3. Even when I install all the auxiliary libraries, I still have an error message with this scenery. But the crashes happens with it and without it.

Yesterday I had a crash while i was flying from LEPA to LEZG (again 20 minutes more or less after the depart). But last week for example, I flew from LEBL to GCXO and frm GCRR to LEAS without problems. And lasth month I flew from LEMD to KORD and from KORD to LEMD.

When I started to have these crashes I removed a mesh about Spain that I had installed.

And all these crashes do not let messages in the X-Plane log. For example, the last line of my log of yesterday (before the crash) is:

XSBWeather temp: 100/22 10000/-17 18000/-28 35000/-61
XSBWeather clouds: -1/-1/0/0/0 24000/26000/1/0/0 -1/-1/0/0/0
Push complete.

I´ve attached the X-Plane log of yesterday and the log message of the system after the X-Plane crash (I know perfectly when is going to crash, because the sound sudently stop)

X-Plane 10.50 is out for beta testing. I would suggest you copy your 10.45 install (in case you have even more problems) and then upgrade to the beta to see if it is more or less stable for you.

More information on using betas can be found here.
