Dear All,

I have a MSI pc for gaming purpose without CD/DVD reader. A friend of mine, ordered for me the new X PLANE 11 as a gift, can I find a key to install it from the official site or on steam by unboxing the simulator?

Kind regards

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer from downunder..

My presumption is that you have been given X-Plane as a dvd version.

As a side issue can you install/add a DVD drive into your PC?  If not then to solve your dilemma you need to purchase a portable DVD drive that has a USB connection so you can connect to your PC.  This will designate a drive number or name in your system

During the installation process you need to tell X-Plane where to find the disc(s).

There is no product key or password for the DVD version.  Disc 1 has to be installed in the drive at all times to be able to run.  If you don't X-Plane will automatically default to the demo version that has only a 10 minute life to run.

If you have received an AEROSOFT dvd version then the password number they supply does not work for X-Plane but is a "ploy" or "con" to get you to purchase other products from their web site at a possible discount price.

Good luck and welcome to the world of X-Plane.
