Flashing Black Screen on Startup

Question

I just bought X Plane 11 on Steam. However, whenever I try to start it, the screen flashed a black screen twice, them the program crashes. I've tried everything from reinstalling/updating graphics card drivers, reinstalling the game without any scenery add-ons, and others. It's a fresh install so there are no 3rd party programs in it. I checked my log file to see if it shows the problem, but all it says is my computer's specs and at the bottom it says "--=={This application has crashed!}==--"

I have a custom computer with Ryzen 5, a 1050ti and 750ti (for my peripheral monitors), 8GB ram so nothing hardware wise is the issue.

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer from downunder.

Unfortunately you have "pulled the wrong rein" and purchased a steam version of x-plane.

You are in the wrong forum.  You should ask your question in a X-Plane steam forum.  This forum is dedicated to purchasers and users of the original and official version of X-Plane. To find a forum search through Dr Google.

The steam version of x-plane is a 3rd party hybrid that has been modified.  It is not supported by Laminar.  There is no connection between either party.  Steam installs differently to the Laminar version.  Steam is taking a commercial advantage of the development work carried out by Laminar.

I don't support steam.
