Can I use my MacBook Pro 2.8GHz, 8Mb RAM, but only 512 MB VRAM

Question

Even though I don't have the full 1GB VRAM I Need to know if I can at lest run sessions for training procedures and flight profiles on a Cessna 172 using a yolk and rudder set-up? Can I set up reduced scenery or resolution for the moment until I get a newer computer in the future?

 

My system is now:

2.8GHz

8MB RAM

VRAM 512 MB

You may be able to run X-Plane 10. Check out the free demo here and see if you can set the rendering settings low enough to get a useable frame rate. 

If v10 is too much for your machine, you can also try the v9 demo.
