Unable to open X-Plane 11 Demo installer

Question

I downloaded the installer from x-plane.com and 

unzipped it but when I opened the installer, windows said the installer had stopped working, followed by a dump file created in the temp folder. I ran the WinDbg.exe to look at the dump file but could not find the culprit or anything that caused the crash. It just said the source was unknown. Download file

Does the installer start at all? If it was able to create the installer log.txt file on the desktop, please attach it in a comment so we can review it.

Comments

The installer was closed immediately after I double clicked it. The installer.log was created but nothing was written inside.
