new fms/gps for B787 to work in X-Plane 11

Hi.

 

Could you explain in very simple terms, how to put in a new FMS/GPS on the pilot side (in plane maker) to make my B787 X-Plane 11 compatible.

Hi Kevan,

I would suggest putting up with what you have until the final version of X-plane 11 has been released ie all Beta versions no longer exist.

Why do I say this?

No doubt you you have a Beta version.  If you go changing things around for this Beta version, the next Beta version may over ride what you have done.  As a consequence you will be repeating the process.

Hi Glenn, Thanks for your reply. I have seen the video by Wycliffe before. the reason for my question was that my 787 does not show up in X-Plane 11. In airplane maker I get a advisory message that in part states that I am using an old school simplified X-Plane GPS or FMS on the pilot side and these are no longer supported in X-Plane 11 and then states "Go to the panel editor and put in a new FMS/GPS for the pilot side. 

I have attached the image of the error above.

Sorry I can't help you any more.  Hopefully one of the XP flight sim wizards can provide an answer/fix for you.

I suppose it may be appropriate to file a bug report.

Hi Glen.

That is me answering the question. I was looking for the FMS and GPS in plane maker and then I found the new GPS in the instrument listing, I made some changes and after a little while got everything working.

Later I came back to Q&A to let you know I had solved the issue and noticed the  question on the 787 so I thought I would pass on the info that I learned.
