Phillip,
I used the convert424toxp11 tool today to convert our Jeppesen-provided data to XP11's expected formats. The *.dat files were generated without error which was fantastic. I would like to suggest the following to make it easier for users to use the tool:
1) I did see some warning and caution messages like:
WARNING: No airport Id found for local navaid IDK "DIAVIK" in CY. Assuming CDK2
ORI caution: KVR UK is not VOR, NDB or TACAN but part of away.
Suggestion: I assume here that the word "away" is actually "airway" or shortend "awy". Suggest fixing spelling.
2) Please consider hosting the convert424toxp11 tool on the developer website. That way, these files are more accessible through companies with firewall rules around third-party file sharing sites like Dropbox.
Suggestion: On developer.xplane.com, change the main navigation toolbar to "Blog | Scenery Tools | NavData Tools | Videos | Documentation | Source Code". Have the NavData page link from that. Finally, have the tool download directly from x-plane.com.
3) The convert424toxp11 tool relies on the Visual Studio 2015 runtime distributables. There is no mention of this on the NavData tool page, nor whether the user needs x86 or x64 bit runtime dependency files.
Suggestion: Add a link to whichever runtime dependency package is needed, directly from Microsoft.com
