X-Plane 9 sim window problems

I just installed a newly purchased copy of X-Plane 9. Program seems to be running fine, but there are no Maximize or Minimize buttons in the upper right hand corner of the simulation window. Additionally, I cannot re-size the main simulation window or configuration windows by mousing to the edge of a window, clicking and then dragging the window borders. In a previous homeschool version of X-Plane, I could do these things. Do I have an installation problem?

Please go into the rendering settings and check if it is set to full screen or windowed mode. You will only be able to see the buttons and be able to resize the window by hand if it is windowed.
