Why can't I install X Plane 11 either from disc or online?

I bought XPlane 11 for PC/Mac with 9 discs and have never managed to install it. I tried on my old PC running Windows 7 and got an error message saying my graphics card was not suitable.  Now I have bought a new computer running Windows 10 and disc 1 stops almost immediately with the error message:

XPlane 11 Installer.exe has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I have not been sent a solution by Windows. I have tried to download a web version of the program but again it won't install.  Can you please tell me how to resolve this problem?

Hi Tony,

I am not with Laminar Research.

Has your antivirus software been unlocked to allow the software to work?  Are you installing the software as the PC Administrator?

If your answers are yes to both questions then I am not able to assist any further as I am a windows person.
