Do I need disk 1 permanently in the drive to run Xplane 11? I only have one usb and I want that for my joystick

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but the short answer is yes, if you are running the X-Plane 11 DVD set, then you will need Disc 1 in the DVD ROM tray at all times.

Thanks for your comments. I wish it was a different answer though. I was hoping to use X Plane 11 on my laptop, but as you may be aware most laptop hardware comes minus the DVD drive and with just one USB port these days. So the drive would have to occupy the one port meaning no joystick. Puff!
