I've just built a PC solely to play X-Plane however it keeps crashing. I am only running Airport Environment HD without any plugins. I am running version 11.40 on the steam version of X-Plane. I have contacted support however they are not helping me. Just want to be able to fly again. I will link the log.txt Here.

Hi there

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK.

It's a shame that you're not getting any support from Steam, although not really surprising! You should have purchased a copy of XP11 directly from LR and then you would get full support from this Q&A forum and LR themselves.

Having said that and in the interests of assisting others, one initial question to start with:-

When you use the term 'crash', do you mean that the XP11 application shuts down back to desktop (i.e. crash to desktop - CTD) or do you mean that your PC crashes to the point of having to reboot (i.e. blue screen of death - BSOD)?

I have looked at your XP11 Log.txt file and frankly there is no data available in it that would explain a crash of any sort??

Hi again

Had another more detailed look at your XP11 Log.txt file and as far as hardware is concerned, all appears to be OK in terms of CPU, GPU, RAM, OS etc.

In terms of what XP11 was doing when it stopped recording data in the Log.txt file, this was the last entry:-

Fetching plugins for C:\Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/X-Plane 11/Aircraft/Laminar Research/KingAir C90B/plugins

Loaded: C:\Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/X-Plane 11/Aircraft/Laminar Research/KingAir C90B/plugins/xlua/64/win.xpl (com.x-plane.xlua.1.0.0r1).

Just as an exercise, I loaded the same aircraft into my copy of XP11 and I get the same data entry, but in my case, I also get the following initial entries shown below, to an eventual and successful launch of XP11 itself.

In your case, these data entries are not being made and XP11 simply shuts down?

0:00:15.166 I/SND: This aircraft is using FMOD in FULL mode.
0:00:15.166 I/FLT: Init dat_p0 type:loc_ram apt:28M start at:Ramp Start

Suggestions:-

1. Open the XP11 Installer app and rerun it, as this should check to make sure that you have no missing or corrupt files

2. Load another default aircraft into XP11 and advise if it loads OK?

3. As a precaution, always check to make sure that you have installed the very latest NVIDIA drivers for your GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card?

4. I note that you have installed the MisterX6 Airport Environment HD addon into your custom scenery folder. Please copy and paste this out of the custom scenery folder to somewhere safe and try loading XP11 again.

Can't think of anything else currently, but hope this helps as a start :-)

Regards
