Will the heading indicator drift with out failing the vacuum pump.

Question

Is there any way to make the heading indicator drift with out failing the vacuum system during a flight?  I would like to simulate real world conditions so that I have to realign to the compass every so often.

I agree completely. When I start the plane from cold I have to calibrate the gyro-compass but after that nothing. I do agree that it sould be able to be turned off (or better yet just let the AHRS setup be the drift disabled version) but I personally would prefer realistic drift. Not linear, not random, but something like standard linear drift affected but direction (rotation of the earth) and turning.
