I cannot use any cockpit switches e.g. lights

I'm new to x-plane simulators (not new to flight sims) and I bought -plane 11 and installed it. The first time i loaded a flight I could use all the switches within the cockpit then I turned my computer off and came back on today and tried sing the switches and I was unable to use them, any ideas and help would be appreciated.

I have heard some people have issues if they use more than one monitor. X-Plane will only respond to clicking on the manipulable parts of the cockpit on the main monitor. Could that be what you are experiencing? Also make sure you're using 3D cockpit view.

yeah ive fixed it by using windowed mode and not full screen as I don't use main monitor for flying
