LOW FPS GTX 1080Ti / 16G Laptop

Question

Hello,

Adter a clean install of Windows 10 x64 Pro, I today installed demo version of x-plane. I cannot get more than 15 fps regardless of graphics settings. My system is;

i7 7700

Geforce 1050 Ti Mobile

16GB Ram

What is the problem ?

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK. I am also a qualified computer technician and on face value, your laptop specification looks more than capable of running X-Plane.

However, just to be certain there are no 'bottlenecks' in your system somewhere, I would recommend downloading a small piece of software from https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/, which will 'stress test' your laptop to identify if there are any issues?

You may also wish to look at a YouTube video from a well known simmer Q8Pilot on the subject of X-Plane settings, which is very useful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsum5o9IEzw

Another thing to consider is to switch off the Threaded Optimization settings in the graphics card NVIDIA control panel. This is basically an application that takes advantage of multiple CPU's, which your laptop probably hasn't got!
